Platform Design

The Mini is so cute and tiny and sweet, like a puppy dog (not a bulldog) with rear anti-sway bars and 118HP. It’s been the most graphic of automobiles which, now that it’s had a makeover and among the up a coming of cars puts it in prime position to do platform design.

You can already get the british or english flag on the roof among a few other designs. But to show the potential and I’m guessing also to test out the market potential Mini has launched a custom roof graphics campaign. Designers and the like can submit graphics for your own stylized Mini and it ends up in their car park of a gallery.

While it’s a bit light weight (you really can’t expect anything innovative from a car company anymore) it’s a step in the right direction. And it’s fun to dream about cars being as individually styled as a persons fashion.
