So we’ve been doing a lot on custom sneakers these past few weeks. Both because we like them and it’s one of the few products that have been platformed for a while. But last week I ran across RBK Customs, Reebok’s turn to weigh in against Nike, Adidas and Puma. I have to say RBK is by far better that all the others to date.

The site is easy to use, fun to configure and the examples they show are really tight. They have taken custom made sneakers to a new level of detail. But the biggest thing is that they get it! They understand why people do this. You can specify the accent thread color, and not from a limited palette no, everything is available in every color. They have 17 colors and more than 13 different models to customize (if you think just in solid colors that’s 221 different shoes). They give you so much control over the choices that you can remove most of the Reebok logos form the shoe (that alone is worth writing a post about, bravo to understand that we know the brand of shoes we are wearing and don’t need to be reminded)!

I spent more than an hour there the first time and I’ve been back everyday since. I’ve bought 3 pair so far. It’s fun to make these thing and it took me at least 2 or 3 shoes to find all the different detailing options, from suede or smooth leather to zig-zag edges on some elements. I’ll be Honest, I’ve never really liked Reebok in the past, but after the Icecream shoes, and how this! I’m starting to be a big fan!

If you do proper customs with marker in hand, then these shoes are PERFECT, you can choose exactly the base colors you want order it and then custom it to perfection. Next week we will be ordering a few pair to do just that. PD’s first costumed sneaks. We’ll post how it went.
Big props Reebok!

Nice! I’d love to see the exposition…
And I love to customize too.
