Finally and rocknroll exhibition with some really interesting takes on the basic Fender Stratocaster. The Rock Chic exhibition is a history take on the influence of rocknroll on society. Everything said, it’s a pretty average sort of music event with a what-you-would-expect lineup. Except for these Strats! They did such a great job of picking designers and musicians to customizes these guitars, it really shows some potential. And also what a platform design guitar could be!
Fender Stratocasters, like skateboard decks have been the object of much customization over the past 30 or 40 years. But while skate decks have really gone of the deep end with design, guitars have stuck primarily to the basic, absurd, outlandish or downright bad taste. If you disagree with this statement then first look here and then I’m ready for a debate.
Bravo Fender or who ever chose the the people to design these Strats. In comparison you can see the Gibson Les Paul customs here. They’re quiet in line with my criticism on typical custom guitars above.
